Not much happens
So I have been here for a month now and there has been some ups and many downs. I am going to try and explain what a normal day and week looks like.
Monday: depending on if your on meals or not for that day the day changes so this last week I have been on breakfast meaning you need to be in the kitchen to prepare that by 7:10 A.M. If not we wake up around 7:20 to go to breakfast by 7:30. we eat breakfast and the kids go to school. while in school we leadtimers have only one class in the summer per day. classes right now are informal and not at all what I was expecting. I hope that when it is the regular school year this will change. 9:15 class starts and ends at 10:30 monday is guys bible study group. right now were reading through uprising by erwin mcmannus. I think thats how you spell it. It's ok and were just getting into in but it could turn out pretty good. spiritual growth is hard here when we work so much. after this class we have a couple hours free time and usually we will sleep. after this at about 12:30 we go over to eat lunch and whoever is on lunch goes earlier to prepare it. After lunch we do work projects with the kids to teach them proper stuff about working and responsibility. this goes on until 3:30 when swimming time starts. we swim about an hour a day and then get ready for dinner. After dinner on monday we have a bible study with the kids. after this is room time and then lights out. I stay up late and get personal things done that I can't do in the day when i'm working.
Tuesday: wake up for breakfast then send the kids to school. after this we proceed to our staff meetings which take up the whole time until lunch. Leadtimers are allowed to go off property for this lunch. None of us have the money for this so we just stay around but don't have to watch the kids because staff covers them for us because they steal our free time in the morning with meetings. after lunch is more work and then swimming then dinner. we have game night tuesdays and then go to bed.
Wednesday: wake up eat breakfast kids go to school. Leadtime class has praise and worship and free time till lunch. after lunch we have community service day where we go off property with the kids to do community service around the city. this lasts till dinner. After eating dinner we have movie night in the guys house and this week we went to transformers 2 but normally we just watch a dvd on property. after this is beds and lights out.
Thursday is the best day. I go to breakfast leadtime class which is serve day which I hate because were already doing service everyday. after this it is my day off and I can do anything i want but not having a car doesn't help me. I usually sleep and watch movies.
Friday: Whoever is on breakfast will bring it over to the house and we will have cereal and the sorts. after this we do our clubs which range from social justice to frisbee golf and art. I am not in charge of any of these so I can rotate through them each week. Lunch is after clubs and then we have adventure day where we go off property with our whole guys house kids and leadtimers. We come back to property from adventure day and someone will be on property grounded dinner and have to stay on property with all the kids who have to stay on property that night. if your not on dinner you will take the rest of the kids and go off property to dinner and movies or whatever you plan for the night. after this it's beds and lights out.
Saturday nothing happens all day long just regular hanging out and swimming. then after dinner there is house night this is something the whole house does ranging from water parks to laser tag but usually is not something that costs that much. after this is beds and lights out.
Sunday: We go to church and then just hang out the rest of the night until beds. Meals are at the regular times too.

Leadtime begin
This was the hardest longest and most difficult day and night ever. First I will back up and tell you how I got from denver to arrival on the property. When we left off Lauren and I were stuck in denver with plans to rent a car for us and all of my stuff. Lucky for us god helped us out tremendously and provided what we needed through my family working really hard to make sure I had the money to rent the car. Troy, Caleb, and Thomas for letting us stay at their place and troy for helping so much with the car.
On the morning of monday June 6th 2009 we awoke and proceeded to walk down washington to 19th and turn left along and down to broadway where the AVIS car rental place was. So we enter and there is another customer coming in the other door at the same time. Fortunately the lady inside decided we were first. I gave her my ID my debit card and proceeded with small talk like my dad would do if he were in that same situation.
With the paperwork all done I followed the lady outside to retrieve the car while lauren hung back and looked at all the travel brochures. Pulling up the Chevy Trailblazer which would be the car we were going to drive the attendant realized some damage and we both took the time to inspect the car and fill out the appropriate damage form so I would not be charged.
I entered the car as lauren did the same and we pulled out of the lot and onto the open road well for about 3 minutes. We still had to transfer all my stuff to the car from Troy's truck. After this process we locked up his house and headed out onto the road. Only a couple wrong turns and stops along the road and were were there at the address the map gave us.
When the map only had given us the street and not the number we decided we should call Joe and see where his house was. Turns out there are multiple streets with the same name and we were on the wrong one. Luckily they were only a few blocks away from each other this time. We had a quick trip to the property to show lauren around and then a light dinner at Joe's house while we talked about stuff. Going to bed that night was not very easy and I only had 3 hours to sleep anyway. Lauren's flight was early in the morning and I had to drive her there very early.
After dropping off Lauren and resisting the tears I dropped off the rental and dropped my bottom onto a bench to wait to be picked up.
Once we arrived at property we grabbed my stuff and took it to my room. I spent the afternoon trying not to cry while unpacking my room. once I completed this I laid in my bed and proceeded to cry harder than I ever have before in my life. I sent a massive text to all who could pray for me to be strong and make it through the hard time of getting used to being alone and new. I also got on skype and talked to a few people to try and get guidance but I was too sad and depressed to even want the advice. I guess I just wanted the company of familiar people.
It took me 4 hours to fall asleep that night. When I woke up at 7:30 I had to get my keys out of my pillow case and jump down from the top bunk to get my lock box open and get my phone out to turn off the alarm. The whole day was like being a ghost I was there but it seemed like no one could see me or interact with me. I proceeded to cry that whole day as well. When night came and passed I awoke knowing we would be going off property just us Leadtimers. This was encouraging because they would be forced to interact with me and see I was an OK guy and worth liking. Then I wouldn't feel as lonely as I had felt.
Following the off property meeting with a new member of staff I got to spend some time with the kids and get to know a couple of them. we also worked out in the sun for two hours which was pretty nice to do. Through all this time I had been in training meetings and learning the ropes. structured relationship it is a combination of love and discipline just like parents.
Following my last training for the week I was picked up by Joe to spend a weekend off property to see the city and learn the town. Dinner of bacon pasta and shrimp salad was prepared and delicious. That night me and Joe went to Walmart with a lot of things that were meant for my now dead and gone car. Returning all the items I received $101 to which I could buy an alarm clock, soda, candy, and a box of envelopes so I could send Lauren some Love letters. I may write other people as well. this did not cost the large amount of money I had just earned.
Going back to Joe's house I spent the rest of the night on skype with Lauren talking to her about most of what is written above.
Waking up I had a stuffy nose and red eyes from allergies I never knew I had. I spent most of the day blowing my nose and applying for health insurance online. dinner was grilled cheeseburgers corn and potato chips and they were delicious. I then proceeded that night to watch Night at the museum 2 online and then talk to lauren before I went to sleep.
Currently everything after the movie has not happened while I type this. I will shortly talk to lauren then sleep for tomorrow i'm going to the air show.
Until next time I remain in a misery smile

first leg
Ok so the first leg of this trip has been one for the memories. My car fried and is going to be staying in denver while we try to sell it for something. we will rent a car and finish the trip hopefully smoothly. I spent all of today hanging out at a dealership trying to sell the car and figure out the best option for renting one as well. we found a good deal for a rental after going to enterprise and finding out them and most other dealers won't let you go from state to state or at least not for cheap. I tried truck rentals such as penske and uhaul but those are all booked past when I need them. Finally I found a place that is 200 cheaper than the rest so that is exciting and I will be able to get to Leadtime. Everyone at the dealership has been great and even offered us rides. I don't know what else to say except I am excited to be able to get to my new home for the time being. I am also sad I now do not have a car and do not have lauren with me in a couple days.
I am definitely in a misery smile right now

Wolverine, Birthdays, & To Boldly Go
So I figure if I'm not writing about what has been going on in my life since my last post then I will never post anything. Well here goes my next rant and rave. Thursday night was great we went to the first half of the boys soccer game then had Wyldlife which worked out pretty well considering Sam Begg was still gone for one last night and Katie Cunningham was at a graduation dinner I think however Doug Grennan was there to help out and it worked out great. Following club we drove kids home and me and Matt Cain proceeded to go over to the Giles to welcome the newly graduated leaders into our midsts. after hanging out eating Ice cream and talking the Younglife night ended and the Latelife started with the midnight premiere of X-MEN Origins: Wolverine.
Overall good story which has been changed and altered from the true comic book story of Logan's past. 1. Logan and Sabertooth are not brothers and the man who created sabretooth even wanted him to be Logan's dad. 2 the graphics were mostly great through the whole film except in a few places where the adamantium claws look like there floating around on Logan's hand and when the professor picks up the kids at the end it's a CGI field their running through and nothing else. All in all not a bad movie just doesn't follow the comic book and doesn't follow good graphics ethics.
Saturday night. SURPRISE!!! Sam Begg surprise birthday party guys only. The night consisted of snacks of all kinds multiple games of Settlers of Catan and Cities and Knights of Catan. Intermittent games of Mariokart on the WII as well. Sam /begg will be turning 40 this year the day after I turn 21. so be prepared for that.
Tomorrow is May 6th which wouldn't be anything special except I get to go see the sneak premiere of Star Trek for my birthday with my brother and our girlfriends. I am more excited for this movie premiere than any other movie that will come out this year and thats a lot considering Wolverine came out and Terminator: Salvation is only 2 weeks away.
Until next time I remain in a misery smile

tattoo's and book's
So in efforts to get my life together to leave I have gone in and gotten another session on my tattoo completed. I have a boat now instead of just waves. Unfortunately Jesus still doesn't have a right hand but for some reason my artist has decided that he is going to complete the hand one day before my birthday for free. I don't know why but I am pretty excited that Jesus will finally have a hand.
In other news Leadtime has sent me out another package. This time I have received the packing list for what I need while I am out there. Along with that I have received a couple books on getting to know others and evangelism. I am excited to read them but probably won't have time to do so until I leave to Missouri.

Coffee Preparations.
So Lately I have ben coming down to a coffee shop in western Sugarhouse called Alchemy Coffee. This coffee shop is by far my favorite shop/tasting coffee in the state of utah. 8 A.M. 7 P.M. or now at 3 P.M. it doesn't matter. I have been sitting at the same red linoleum table in the same turquoise type paint wall corner for the past couple weeks.
During these few cups of coffee on each excursion I have been Listening to sermons by Mark Driscoll, Listening to my random music style, and reading books ranging from political christianity to zombie survival guides.
Through all the things I have been hearing go into my ears or being sent through my eyes by reading. I have been feeling happier about where I am in life and what I am about to do in less than 2 months now. You see I have been seeing this girl for the past 7 months. Her name is Lauren Beatty!!! She has somehow decided I am worth anything making my self esteem get boosted ten fold. She has made me laugh and smile more in this time than the first 17 years of my life, and she has shown me love by showing me forgiveness for all the mistakes I have made. I am eternally grateful to god for providing this amazing beautiful woman to me to help me more fully understand him.
You see as I have mentioned I will be leaving on may 29th and driving across the country to missouri and more specifically kansas city. Now before her I would be doing this without anything stopping me and I am still going to go now. However I will be leaving her here in Utah. Now we both have webcams and we have texting and phones and we can even write letters to each other. Now knowing that I won't be able to hold her hand or keep her warm when it's cold outside is the thing I am fearing leaving.
Now I said above I have been happier about what is about to happen to me. This is because through my time here in utah in salt lake in sugarhouse in alchemy in the word of god I have realized again why I am going and that is to get the biblical study and understanding I am missing in my life to be able to do the thing that I most want to do in the world which is help people see, know, and try to understand even the smallest part of the infinite god that I know. Now I by no means think I will be coming back full of knowledge that no one knows or even knowledge where I wouldn't need to ever study again. No I will need to study listen and soak in everything I get and present that info to god and figure out what he accepts as true knowledge. But hopefully I will start to know enough whereas I will be humbled enough to experience making my earning in the gospel.
Until next time I remain in a misery smile about my time in missouri.
